People Don’t Like Confronting Reality

Quite simply it knocks them off their comfortable perch of a worldview and would and does force them to look back on their lives without the distortion of their secure veil of fantasy and faith that they had safely worn their entire lives. It takes their seemingly firm stance on the rock solid ground beneath them and turns it into mud, or a river, making it impossible for them now to maintain a solid frame to tackle the world. You cannot run from reality, but you can certainly pretend it doesn’t exist – right up until the moment that reality shifts under your feet and forces you to remove yourself from your ivory tower of holier than thouisms. Our society has tried to pretend that reality doesn’t exist – has tried to change reality on a day to day basis – and if you listen to everyone, it can seem like they are winning.
Whenever people clutch at the past, especially a false revisionist past, one is doomed to repeat it, and repeat all the horrible consequences the people before you have due to their own lack of foresight. Also when you clutch at something false and unreal, you are doomed to cause undesirable consequences, pain, and anguish and suffering as result of being deceived. We were all sold a block of lead painted gold and told it was worth something – whether you call that lump of lead God, or politics or socialism or money – you are still holding a piece of meaningless material in your hand. It is all worthless, everything is worthless, unless there is a belief and trust that something is worthy. Only thinking can we make up what is worthy and what is unworthy. Outside of the reality that we all need food, water, shelter, sex, and social and survival skills, nothing else is really valuable in reality. Everything else is something we have conceived of to in hope, make our world easier and better to live in, and better for all, not one.
Dating, love, and relationships often become entangled in these constructed beliefs, making it difficult to discern genuine connection amid the illusions we tend to build around desire and companionship.
The Corrupting Power of Value and Desire
The inherent problem with this, is the reality that human beings are selfish creatures, and power is the ultimate corrupter – put value on something and suddenly the desires to obtain the most of it takes over mankind. As soon as things were perceived as valuable over others you have the age old fighting between men over trivial non essential things. Knowing that nothing you have or think of is actually valuable at all, sets you free from believing that you are right, and free’s you from the desire to acquire everything only to ‘feel’ valuable and worthy. Feeling worthy from false fantasies are what we call delusional, and we are living in the extreme case of mass delusions. God’s have become literal beings, writings and morality lessons that were meant as spiritual and cultural lessons and guides have become hard lines drawn in the sand, heretical if not believed in as fact – gone has the meaning behind such powerful and meaningful tales and myths become – left now with only the cold hard teat clutchers trying desperately to hold onto what once was a beautiful and powerful tool to help understand and lives one’s life co-existing and co-habitating with people who you have more in common with than differences, in reality.
Decay of Rationalism and Embrace of Fantasy
Gone is rationalism. Gone is spiritualism. Gone is proper myth. Left in it’s wake is the rancid smell of decay of a society – the odor permeates the air, though people spray aerosol cans of perfume to cover up the reality that this life, this illusion is dying all around them. They cannot face reality, because reality is to hard to grasp – it’s too hard to admit that you fell for a lie, for a false reality, for a facade, that you would have to admit that you aren’t the hero in the movie that gets it, that you are an extra, a zombie, walking along being led by the masses, doing and saying all that is expected of you like a slave and a drone – all because you believe in something that isn’t real. The ground comes out from under you, and a person will feel cold, alone, even resentful.
People don’t like to hear reality. They tune it out. They repeat the same nonsense that someone else said, regurgitated to fit their argument on how things are more complex, you can’t simplify everything; taxing the rich is the answer, not taxing the rich will create jobs. Nobody is right in any modern political discussion, you all get a big fucking fail. You are all wrong and no one is a real leader in this madness some call reality. However the reality is, and this may be hard to take for you clutchers, civilizations and cultures have a birth, adult hood, old age and death – and we are on the death bed of ours, clutching to morphine of lies and illusions of the past, the falsity that if we just listen to the right side of the coin, if we just find a way to create jobs – if we just cut taxes and let the market dictate that everything will be okay.
Pandora’s box was open along time ago my friends. You cannot close it. You cannot stop nature. You cannot stop reality. There is no fixing the culture and society that is always in constant change – culture and society evolve just like humans and everything in nature – by trying to deny this, and turn back the clock, you only do you and everyone else a disservice. You are only creating unnecessary friction to the natural outcomes of the world. You should not be looking back, but looking ahead, and base your life on reality, not absurdities. I can no longer talk to people about politics or philosophy if they lack the basic understanding of reality and how it works. Simplify and you see the truth. The lies are the veils of fantasy, and they are stacked on top of one another very, very high.
